An Automated Gate System (AGS) is the point of entry and exit at an intermodal terminal. The gates automate the data collection, inspection, assessment and reporting processes. As a result of increased railroad traffic in recent years, the customer demand for more accurate and efficient technologies to be used to automate the process has grown.
