Felician Sisters Provincial House

Project Summary:

This two phase 130,000 square foot project included the complete interior demolition of two wings of the 1920’s era convent to transform it into a retirement home for the elderly sisters with 94 new bathrooms and 160 new bedrooms. Included activity rooms, community rooms, laundry rooms, sewing rooms, catering kitchen, new elevator tower, new accessible entry, all new water, electric, mechanical and fire sprinklers. Required to complete one wing 100% and move the sisters in from the other side and then demo second wing. Third wing remained operating as did the chapel throughout.

After this initial project Milord was hired as design builder for multiple projects including gutting the third east wing and replacing with a assisted care facility; demolition of the existing 1950’s era skilled care facility; library and cafeteria renovation; Chapel re-roof project; Chapel bathroom and HC accessibility improvements and others.

  • Create a new in-house assisted care facility on five floors
  • Complete gut and demolition of five floors
  • Created 51 bed single occupancy assisted living rooms
  • 17 room independent living
  • New elevator tower with grade level entry
  • Three on four on floor community rooms
  • Tub/shower room, Laundry rooms, clinic, beauty, activity, rehab rooms
  • With one floor of independent living gutting the third east wing and replacing with a assisted care facility; demolition of the existing 1950’s era skilled care facility; library and cafeteria renovation; Chapel re-roof project; Chapel bathroom and HC accessibility improvements and others
