St. Isaac Jogues
This project included extensive structural demolition, additions to and renovation of the existing church. The entire roof was temporarily shored as the surrounding bearing walls were demolished and new walls were built, expanding the nave on two sides. A new chapel area was constructed that included a plaster domed ceiling, along with a new narthex gathering space with a full-depth basement. A new courtyard was built connecting all of the buildings. Space on this site was extremely limited so phasing of work was critical. Construction details included plaster details, seven-color accent painting, marble inlays, stained glass, slate floors and decorative woodwork.
