First Baptist Church, Downers Grove

An extremely tight site with primary utility relocations added extra challenges to this multi-purpose addition that ties into the existing 1920 circa original building and three different previous additions all at varying elevations. Providing continual access and life safety while demolishing bearing walls was the also a major challenge. All work was completed while keeping church and school operational. The addition includes a controlled access nursery, divisible community rooms, administration offices, full service kitchen and a gymnasium.
