Mr. L.O.J. Milord founded the company in 1887. Since then, the Milord name has stood for quality workmanship and superior service nationwide. Our wealth of experience in all aspects of the construction industry allows us to provide creative solutions to our client’s needs.
We are a fifth generation, family-owned and family-oriented business. Our framework is built on the solid foundation of family values, going back five generations. We build smart, using our combined knowledge, experience and determination. We work hard to grow our excellent reputation and broaden our valuable relationships. We achieve success by making every effort to help our clients realize their goals.
As one of the oldest companies in the nation and the oldest construction company in Chicagoland, we believe experience is the most valuable asset in our industry. Our track record of successful projects spans three centuries allowing us to have expertise in virtually every construction environment.
At Milord Company, our staff consists of some of the most experienced construction professionals in the nation. Our staff understands the industry, and they understand what it means to represent the Milord name. The average tenure per employee is more than 12 years.

We proudly support and adhere to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) green building certification program. LEED® is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings. We encourage our clients to pursue a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing LEED’s five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
